As a scoutmaster, I am constantly looking for good ways to provide my scouts a treat. One of my scouts introduced me to the concept of Dutch Oven Dessert Pizza.

It is a pizza crust cooked in a dutch oven. After the crust is done, you can put various dessert toppings on the crust and it is delicious.

He requested strawberry jam, but I brought jam, syrup, honey, butter, peanut butter, and whipped cream, You could also use chocolate chips, marshmellows, etc.

I used the Jiffy brand pizza crust mix at 59 cents a box to speed up the mixing process. About 2 boxes of crust mix provided enough dough to cover the bottom of a 12 inch Dutch Oven. I cooked the crust for about 15 minutes with 6 charcoal briquettes on the bottom and 15 briquettes on the top of the oven to provide more of a baking environment.

It was easy, fast, and the scouts loved it! Try it – you will like it!
