OK, I am a sucker for good barbeque. I was at a meeting in Fort Lauderdale and left to go to the airport.

As I was driving down Oakland Park Boulevard, I saw smoke from a block of so down the road. As I got passed the source of the smoke, I saw that it was a BBQ smoker that was cooking away at Bar-B-Q Jacks.

I had a few minutes to spare, so I flipped a U’ey and pulled in to the parking lot. You know a BBQ restaurant is good when the parking lot is full at 3:00 in the afternoon on a Thursday.

As I got out of my car, I caught a whiff of the meat being slow cooked inside that smoker and got really hungry.

Inside, I talked to the server and asked what she recommended. She said everything was good (her boss would be proud). I asked what she liked the best and she said the pulled pork and brisket. I told her that sounded good and asked what her favorite side orders were. Baked beans and steak fries was the immediate reply. My order complete, I paid and watched them serve up my food.

Behind the glass was the food. I saw them serve my food and then mop on my sauce. That ‘ole mop had seen a lot of use over the years!

The food was delicious! It had a tangy sweetness that tasted great! The beans were gone in a flash and the steak fries had this seasoning salt on them that was taaaasty.

They had homemade lemonade and iced tea as well to wash it all down with.

All-in-all, it was an excellent BBQ experience.

They had several signs up in the store advertising their catering menu – well worth checking out if you want great BBQ at an upcoming event.

Check them out when you are in Ft. Lauderdale! It is only 5 mins away from the beach and worth the stop!
