I don’t know about you, but my Grill cleaning brush gets a LOT of use. Even with porcelain grill grates, food tends to stick and the grill requires a good cleaning every time I get the urge to use my grill.

Don’t know how many people are aware of this, but my wife was one of the many who have collected a bristle from a cleaning brush. It lodged in the back of her tongue, way back in her throat. Retrieving this was drawn out and painful. She had several procedures where an ENT tried to retrieve the bristle, but due to gag reflexes, couldn’t get hold of it. One last procedure was tried with the ENT, and a gastro guy. The probes had to go in her nose and loop to the back of her throat, and all work had to be done with a camera. This was the last attempt before they were going to have to put her under, and do surgery. Luckily, they got it, saving from having to put her under. This is a bigger problem than many realize. One woman swallowed one, and had to have surgery to go into her bowels, and retrieve the bristle that was sticking thru,, and into one of her organs. Serious stuff. I don’t use metal any more, but have started using the Char-Broil ‘Cool Clean’ abrasive bristle brush. Just be careful, folks.
