This recipe is a favorite at all of our family gatherings. It has the right mix of sweet and salty. It gets rave reviews and people are constantly asking for the recipe. My daughter will eat this even though she doesn’t like broccoli.

Ingredients:

  • 4-5 Crowns of Broccoli
  • 1lb of bacon
  • 1/2 chopped red onion
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1 cup mayonaise or salad dressing
  • 2 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 heaping teaspoons of sugar

Cook the bacon until it is done, but not crispy. Chop the broccoli crowns into bite sized pieces. Finely chop the red onion. Combine the broccoli, bacon, onion and raisins into a large mixing bowl. In a separate bowl, combine the mayo, apple cider vinegar, and sugar and stir until smooth.

Using a large spoon or rubber spatula, mix the mayo/cider sauce into the broccoli salad. Mix until the sauce completely covers the broccoli mixture. Cover and refridgerate for a couple of hours before serving to combine the flavors of the broccoli, bacon, raisins, and onion with the sauce.

It is a delicious side to any barbeque!
